Welcome to 1st Grade!

   My name is Mrs. Emily Devine and I am pleased to be your first grade teacher this year. This is my sixth year teaching.  I have a real passion for teaching and have always loved school, so can't wait to share my love for learning with all of you.

  I was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska. I like to go back home and visit my family on the weekends. I like the city and all the fun things it has to offer, but I have found that smaller towns like Elwood are a perfect fit for me. I enjoy spending time with my husband Cory, our daughter Sophie, family, friends, and our beagle Ruger.

   I attended Wayne State College and received my teaching degree in 2013. Becoming a teacher was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I truly love coming to work each morning and spending my day with a class full of ambitious children.

I can’t believe that summer has come to an end! My summer was wonderful and busy. I spent my summer playing with my daughter, preparing our classroom, reading, fishing, cheering on the Royals, and so much more. While I really enjoyed my summer I am ready to get back into the swing of things.
